how we got here
Built for the
slow days.
Local Bum started in a college dorm in 2025 with one printer, and a stack of blank tees. After moving away from the east coast, the owner (me) wanted to make clothes that felt like the place he grew up, along with the things he grew up doing. All of the pieces are expressions of what I love.
Every piece is hand-printed by myself in small batches in Rhody. Every piece is unique in its own way... that's kind of the point.
So the important part... Why the name Local Bum?
The name Local Bum, pulls from two different words.
"Local" by definition is relating to a particular place, or a nearby area.
"Bum" by definition is someone who is lazy, irresponsible, or doing nothing.
Combine the words and you get "Local Bum".
By our definition a Local Bum believes life is much simpler when you stop trying to impress everyone. They enjoy good food, random conversations, small adventures, quiet mornings and the people who make you feel at home. They be kind when they can, help someone when it costs them nothing because you never know how much a small gesture can mean to someone.
